Research Project: MONITORING CHANGES IN BEMISIA TABACI SUSCEPTIBILITY TO NEONICOTINOID INSECTICIDES IN ARIZONA AND CALIFORNIA

Location: Pest Management and Biocontrol Research

Project Number: 5347-22620-018-01
Project Type: Trust

Start Date: Jan 01, 2004
End Date: Dec 31, 2007

Objective:
To evaluate the performance of various neonicotinoid insecticides that are crucial to effective management of Bemisia tabaci in the desert southwest.

Approach:
Resistance levels in B. tabaci populations to neonicotinoid insecticides will be monitored regularly, and impact of neonicotinoid treatments on non-target populations will be evaluated. In addition, activity profiles of two neonicotinoid insecticides, imidacloprid and thiamethoxam, will be quantified in plants and related to toxicity effects on B. tabaci. Documents Trust with Bayer.
