Objective:
Grant to support the International Workshop on Defining Issues in Biofuels R&D scheduled for August 3-7, 2008, in Calabria, Italy.

Approach:
Development of a scientific meeting to bring together a mix of researchers from academia and industry worldwide to share knowledge and experiences in the subject area. An exchange of ideas will further the understanding of fundamental science issues in biomass utilization. It will lead to designing feedstock specific products for commercial utilization to reduce petroleum energy utilization and carbon dioxide emissions.
