On November 21, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly in New York declared 2008 to be the International Year of Sanitation (IYS). The launch was an important event for sanitation advocacy.

- Access New Web Site for Global Health Indefinite Quantity Contracts - February 2007
The new Web site http://ghiqc.usaid.gov/ hosts information on multi-award indefinite quantity contracts (IQCs) for USAID's Global Health Bureau, including the Health Policy Initiative (HPI) and Technical Assistance and Support Contract, Three (TASC3). The site is meant to be a place where USAID Missions can access guidelines and supporting documents for developing task orders and scopes of work. Then, in turn, contractors can access these documents, plus resources to aid in their IQC participation.
