Region 8 Air and Radiation Program
Region 8's Goal is to protect human health and help keep the air clean across the Rocky Mountains and High Plains. We do this through the implementation and oversight of the Clean Air Act in six states and with 27 tribes. Our goal includes making sure that the air in our cities and towns stays clean and our parks, wilderness areas and tribal lands are free of pollution and from haze that can obscure views. The Plain English Guide to the Clean Air Act describes the EPA, state, and tribal partnerships and roles, while specific Region 8 roles are highlighted by section under oversight and direct implementation.
