Research Project: SYNTHESIS OF FINDINGS FROM THE CEAP WATERSHED ASSESSMENT STUDY

Location: Grassland Soil and Water Research Laboratory, Temple, Texas

Project Number: 6206-13610-006-27
Project Type: Specific Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jun 15, 2007
End Date: Jun 01, 2009

Objective:
The Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP) is designed to provide to Congress a quantitative assessment of the effects and public benefits of USDA conservation programs. The ARS is responsible for conducting research on a watershed scale that will provide the scientific basis of the assessment. ARS is conducting research on numerous watersheds to determine and document the effects of conservation programs on environmental quality. ARS will provide the watershed research findings to the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the primary responsible USDA agency. The objective of this project is to analyze the findings from the ARS watershed studies and to prepare reports that summarize the important results.

Approach:
The cooperator will: 1) Review results from individual ARS watershed studies, 2) organize and synthesize results into significant findings, and 3) provide reports to ARS and NRCS that summarize important findings.
