Research Project: COLLECTION AND IMPORTATION OF AN EGG PARASITOID - ANAPHES NIPPONICUS FROM CHINA TO THE USA Project Number: 0212-22000-022-04

Objective:
Search for, collect, colonize, and ship egg parasitoids of the cereal leaf beetle for release and establishment in the Pacific Northwest.

Approach:
Areas in northern China where cereal leaf beetle and related species are known to exist will be explored. Cereal grasses suspected of being infested with cereal leaf beetles will be collected and held for emergence of parasitoids, or shipped directly to Oregon for emergence in quarantine. Conduct basic biological studies on new parasitoids in quarantine.
