Flag Folding On Sunday Afternoons

It has become part of the traditon at Sagamore Hill for children to assist in taking down and folding the large U.S. flag that flies in front of President Roosevelt's house every Sunday afternoon. Why Sunday? Well, family visitation is highest on weekends, and that's probably why the Sagamore Hill volunteer who started this tradition - Brendan Casey - likes to spend his Sundays here talking to kids about Theodore Roosevelt and about patriotism. So if you would like to help our rangers and volunteers fold the flag this Sunday, or any afternoon you happen to visit, just ask and we would be glad of your help.
