Research Project: EVALUATION OF ARS PRODUCTS FOR PROTECTION OF DEPLOYED MILITARY PERSONNEL FROM DISEASE-TRANSMITTING INSECTS Project Number: 0208-32000-001-15
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Jan 10, 2008
End Date: Sep 30, 2009

Objective:
Coordination and execution of the evaluation of ARS products for the protection of deployed military personnel, to include oversease trials.

Approach:
A Naval officer assigned to the Mosquito and Fly Reaearch Unit will use the funds 1) identify ARS products with potential force health protection potential; 2) coordinate with military laboratories and field sites to test the efficacy of the products in collaboration with ARS personnel funded separately; and 3) execute tests with results reported in the peer reviewed literaure and directly to the Armed Forces Pest Management Board.
