Comment on 104 Contaminants That May Become Regulated by EPA
Public drinking water systems regulated by EPA and delegated states and tribes provide drinking water to 90% of people in the US. In the mid-Atlantic region the vast majority of small public water systems (with a population less than 3,300) rely upon ground water for their source of drinking water. Likewise, most not on a public system get their drinking water from private wells. Larger systems can also pull their water from streams, rivers, springs or lakes.
