MODIS Collection-5 Land Data Reprocessing Completion
The Collection-5 (C5) reprocessing of MODIS land products, which started in September 2006 was completed in May 2008. This marks the replacement of the entire MODIS record from February 2000 to present with data produced with updated, refined, and validated C5 code. The Collection-4 archive will remain active through December 2008, but users are encouraged to utilize the more comprehensive C5 products for research applications.
