The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) Water
Science for Schools web site offers information on many aspects of
water, along with pictures, data, maps, an interactive center and a printable
Certificate of Completion.
The Missouri Botanical Garden's The
Evergreen Project has a good variety of environmental educational
products.
One of the goals of the Pennsylvania Center
for Environmental Education is to disseminate environmental education
information and materials. They have created a packet which includes a
special map of Pennsylvania, classroom activities and a teacher's guide
to make students aware of land use decisions.
Going Places, Making Choices is
a neatly-packaged and colorfully-illustrated curriculum designed for grades
9-12 by the 4H Council. Lesson plans include Transportation and the
Environment, Air Pollution and Climate Change, Leaving Our Imprint on
the Earth, and Taking Action.
The Global Thinking Project
from Georgia State University was a virtual environment for students and
teachers to participate in environmental study with peers from around
the world.
EPA's Environmental Education Center is an excellent resource for teachers regarding curriculum, community service projects, workshops and conferences, grants and contacts.
Green Teacher is a magazine
by and for educators to enhance environmental and global education across
the curriculum at all grade levels.Each issue contains Perspective
Articles, Practical Articles, Ready-To-Use Activities, Resource Listings
and Reviews, and School News.
The Minnesota Environmental
Education Teacher Preparation Project was a cooperative effort among
ten higher education institutions in Minnesota to develop and implement
a coordinated statewide environmental education program for teachers.
The North American Association for Environmental
Education (NAAEE) is a network of professionals and students working
in the field of environmental education throughout North America and in
55 countries around the world.
"Hands On Save Our Streams - The Save Our Streams Teacher's Manual" by Karen Firehock. The 215 page curriculum is written for use in the first through twelfth grades with sections divided into primary, middle and high school. The Environmental Kid's Club is the United States Environmental Protection Agency's website for kids (ages 5-12). There are games, pictures, stories and other fun activities.
Ecokids Online
has games, storybooks, a gallery and a special page for parents and educators
- all viewed by mouse-exploring their colorful clubhouse.
The Wild Ones is a Children's
Education Project of Wildlife Preservation Trust International in which
students can work and learn about endangered species, and meet the people
who protect them.
The Earth Angels
are an inner city pre-teen group of 150 at-risk children helping an "at
risk" world year around in any manner possible including brownfield
cleanup and recycling programs.
The E-Patrol, sponsored by Sprint,
offers an Endangered Species Alert, Energy Saving Tips, Eco-info, and
even a Screen Saver for kids.

is a suite of interactive learning activities on ecology co-hosted by

The Canon Envirothon is an annual
competition held for high school students throughout North America. Designed
as a way to teach teens about environmental education, the best teams
from over 47 states compete in five subjects: Wildlife, Forestry, Soil,
Aquatics, and Current Environmental Issues. Winners receive college scholarships.
At the EPA Student Center, students in middle and high school can explore a wide range of environmental issues, get help with their homework, or get ideas for environmental club projects.
The International Education and Resource
Network (IEARN) enables young people to undertake projects designed
to make a meaningful contribution to the health and welfare of the planet
and its people.
The 21st Century Schoolhouse is an
international non-profit education organization that provides an interactive
schoolhouse and links to other schools with a focus on the theme of sustainability.
