ADS Chapter 252 - Visa Compliance for Exchange Visitors

A number of substantive changes were made to the chapter:
  • 252.3(3) – contains a statement of policy concerning visas for those foreign national who must transit through the USA;
  • 252.3.3 -- the SRFI has changed. The new section allows Missions and USAID/W to develop alternative SRFI procedures for those individuals who are personally known to staff members;
  • 252.3.6 -- discusses the condition of sponsorship form and pre-departure orientation reqirements; some section contain new language that embodied policy guidance provided to the field since the last revision of the chapter.

  • The chapter was also thoroughly edited.
