Objective:
To determine the structure of all molecules secreted in saliva, to develop probes for quantifying expression levels, and to study the formation of protein complexes.

Approach:
To determine the composition and linkages of monosaccharides in the oligosaccharide motifs present on glycoproteins, and to determine the metabolic flux of carbon into these various monosaccharide residues.
