FPI Beaumont
Engine Rebuilding / Remanufacturing
Give us a unservicable, but rebuildable core and here is what we can do for you:In its simplest terms, remanufacturing is the process of returning a used, worn out engine to as close to new as possible. The engine is completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, remachined, reassembled and tested to insure functional quality.
The integrity of the basic “core“ parts are closely inspected and checked against the original equipment manufacturer's specifications. They are remachined to bring them back to specification to return to the remanufactured core to original equipment tolerances.
Wearable parts such as bearing, rings, pistons and gaskets are automatically replaced. The completed engine is tested for compliance to OEM standards.
In service since 1997, the Federal Prison Industry Beaumont,TX facility specializes in the remanufacturing of engines ranging in size from four cylinders to the large V-12 motor. In the last several years, we have rebuilt more than 4,000 engines. Approximately 300 inmates staff the 42,500 square foot facility and warehouse which can accommodate up to 500 stored engines (Additional storage space is available upon request). A multi-million dollar contract with an on-site parts vendor, combined with more than 10,000 repair parts in inventory allows FPI Beaumont to ensure a fast and efficient turn-around time for customer orders.
The FPI Beaumont facility features an on-site calibration department to ensure that all test, measurement and diagnostic equipment is in compliance with Quality Standards; a multimillion dollar engine test area that includes seven dynamometer chambers capable of testing up to 1500 horsepower engines; a paint booth; five jet washers to thoroughly clean all parts; and Magnaflux/dye penetrant and pressure testing capabilities for nondestructive testing of parts.
