New Performance Track Members, September 2008
Facilities from The City of Dallas, facilities from Intel Corporation and John Deere, and Dyess and Barksdale Air Force Bases in Texas and Louisiana are among the 42 new members committing to go above and beyond environmental requirements as members of EPA's National Environmental Performance Track program. The latest members bring the total number of environmental leaders in Performance Track to 548, with members in 49 states and Puerto Rico.
About Performance Track
Performance Track is a partnership program to recognize and reward private and public facilities that demonstrate strong environmental performance beyond current requirements. The 548 Performance Track members have set three-year goals for continuous improvements in environmental performance beyond their legal requirements, have internal systems in place to manage their environmental impacts, and work within their communities.
In September 2008, EPA announced its 16th Round of Performance Track members. Together, the program's members have set more than 2,000 goals for environmental improvements, many of which will achieve environmental results in areas that are not covered by regulations, such as energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, or water use.
The EPA press release announcing Round 16 members provides more information.
