MCKEESPORT MAN SENTENCED TO PROBATION FOR FAILING TO FILE TAXES

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, January 17, 2007, that Gary J. Diehl, a resident of McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to two years of probation and six months of home detention on his conviction of charges of willful failure to file tax returns.

Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr., imposed the sentence on Diehl, age 53, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Luke E. Dembosky, Diehl willfully failed to file required federal income tax returns for the years 1999 through 2001.

Ms. Buchanan commended the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Diehl.
