22 March 2002 - The United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan announced today the filing of a
two-count Information charging Robert Wallen, 48, of 18 Spruce Way, R.D. #7, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania 18360, with failing to file federal income tax returns in 1996 and 1998. The Information charges that Wallen failed to file returns reporting approximately $500,000 in taxable income from his employment as a cardiologist between 1995 and 1998, resulting in a tax loss of $171,511.00.

If convicted, defendant could be sentenced to two years in prison, placed on one year of supervised release, fined $200,000, and ordered to pay a $50 special assessment, along with the costs of prosecution and all tax, interest and penalties.
