Title	Florida Planning Toolbox: Housing Tools
Highlights	There is implicit recognition that lengthy approval periods can increase the cost of housing.   This toolbox presents expedited permitting to decrease the cost of housing.                       There is implicit recognition that extensive development fees can increase the cost of housing.   This toolbox contains affordable housing incentives, such as fee waivers to decrease housing costs.                       There is implicit recognition that zoning policies can discourage affordable housing development.   This toolbox presents descriptions and examples for inclusionary zoning policies and density bonuses to encourage affordable housing development.
Description	This chapter from the Florida Planning Toolbox contains a number of housing tools and resources to promote the development of affordable housing in the state of Florida. In addition to descriptions for each tool, the toolbox presents real-world examples and case studies from within the state. Some of the tools listed in the toolbox include housing trust funds, inclusionary zoning, and developer incentives, such as expedited permitting, density bonuses, and fee waivers.
