Research Project: AVIAN INFLUENZA MONITORING OF WILD BIRDS AT NON-US SITES

Objective:
Conduct targeted surveillance in selected wild birds in at risk geographic areas to better understand the virus ecology.

Approach:
We will conduct field sampling of wild birds in South America and Africa. Cloacal and tracheal swab will be collected from wild caught or naturally dead birds and submitted to SEPRL for analysis of avian influenza and other exotic viruses.
