Research Project: LONG TERM WATER QUALITY RESPONSE TO CONSERVATION PRACTICES IN A COASTAL PLAIN

Location: Southeast Watershed Research

Project Number: 6602-13000-023-04
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Sep 15, 2005
End Date: Sep 14, 2009

Objective:
To evaluate the effects of past and potential conservation practices on water quality in a coastal plain watershed; to evaluate social and economic factors influencing implementation and maintenance of these conservation practices; and to train and educate stakeholders about these issues and the effect that their actions have on watershed-scale water quality.

Approach:
We will assess the water quality effects of conservation practices at multiple temporal and spatial scales in LREW and provide a geographic prioritization for future implementation in the watershed and similar watersheds. We will use Cumulative Effects Analysis (CEA)as our primary tool for meeting this goal.
