Objective:
The objectives for this specific cooperative agreement are to facilitate research toward positional cloning of the gene Lr46/Yr29 conferring durable resistance to leaf and stripe rusts of wheat.

Approach:
A cosmid library will be constructed and cosmid and/or BAC clones will be used to develop contigs in the Lr46 region using protocols developed at the Wheat Genetics Resource Center at Kansas State University.
