UNICOR manufactures a full range of furniture alternatives, including modular lines of high-end wood veneer desk/credenza and matching office products, transitional office laminated products, and durable designs for barracks or dormitory living. Seating products are manufactured to complement both traditional and contemporary applications, including ergonomic task seating, desk and conference seating, and occasional and lounge seating.

C A P A B I L I T I E S

Dimension mills at two UNICOR locations are capable of producing various components for furniture products. Mill operations include planing, shaping, routing, boring, and sanding of rough-cut wood to form finished components.

Finishing operations are performed at eight UNICOR factories where furniture is stained, sealed, and top coat lacquered using both the conveyorized and spray booth methods for application of the finishes. Finishing processes include the use of environmentally friendly products that meet or exceed the durability standards of Federal Specification TT-L57-C for water base coatings.

Assembly and packing are done with standard industrial fastenings, including 32mm fabrication, and then packed to commercial or customer specifications. Product packaging meets National Freight Association Standards.

Office and contract seating is manufactured in nine UNICOR plants throughout the country. The process begins with the assembly of the interior and exterior frames of wood or metal, followed by the installation of suspension systems. Cutting and sewing operations can perform up to 60 ply fabric cutting, along with single- and double-needle lock stitching. Foam assemblies are cut, fabricated, and applied to prepare furniture for final upholstering. UNICOR contracts with several leading suppliers for a full array of fabrics and patterns (1,500 fabrics) for seating products.

Panel systems are a part of the UNICOR family of furniture products. Two system furniture factories are supported by multiple, vertically integrated UNICOR factories that supply acoustical panels, laminated work surfaces, glass, and open frame panels to tackboards, task lights, signage, and file storage options.

Product testing is done on assembled furniture products at the UNICOR Furniture Test Lab to ensure that products meet or exceed the ANSI/BIFMA performance standards for office furniture products.

UNICORs capabilities include a full-function Product Development Center that designs, prototypes, and tests furniture products to meet exacting customer and industry standards.
