U.S. Government Donates 40 Million Condoms to the Ministry of Health
The United States Government presented the first batch of 40 million
condoms donated to the Government of the Republic of Zambia on September 19, 2007.
This is the first time the U.S. Government has donated such a large quantity of
condoms through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) directly
to the Ministry of Health for public sector use. The donation represents a
two-year supply for the entire country.....

USAID provides printing equipment to the Office of the Auditor General
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID),
through its Anti-Corruption Initiative (ACI) project managed by Pact Zambia, handed over new
printing equipment to the Office of the Auditor General. The equipment will assist the
Office of the Auditor General to print its reports to the Executive, Parliament and all
stakeholders in a timely manner.....

U.S. Ambassador Opens Library, Donates Books to Children at Terranova School in Zambia
The U.S. Ambassador to Zambia, Carmen Martinez, opened a new library
and donated several books to children at the community school of Terranova Coffee Farm in Mazabuka, on
July 2, 2007. The school received more than $25,000 from Woodward Academy, a private school in Atlanta,
Georgia, to build classrooms and the library.....

3,000 People attend an HIV/AIDS Benefit Concert in Livingstone, Zambia
More than 3,000 people braved the bitter
cold winds in Zambia's tourist capital and home of the Victoria
Falls, Livingstone, to attend the HIV/AIDS Benefit Concert at
Zambezi Sun Hotel on June 16, 2007. The concert featured some
of Zambia’s popular musicians - The Amayenge Cultural Ensemble,
Danny, K’million, and MC Wabwino.....

US First Lady, Mrs. Laura Bush Praises US Mission Staff in Zambia
The First Lady of the United States, Mrs. Laura
Bush, on her first visit to Zambia, praised US Mission Staff for
their tireless hard work. Speaking to US Mission staff at the Taj
Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka soon after her arrival on June 28, Mrs.
Bush thanked both US citizens and Foreign Service Nationals at the
US Mission in Zambia for working hard to help uplift the living
standards of Zambians....
