Metadata Workshop with Peter Schweitzer
Peter Schweitzer, Eastern Mineral Resource Team in Reston, instructed a 2 1/2-day metadata workshop at the WHFC from October 16th-18th. VeeAnn Cross (WHFC) organized the workshop. In addition to giving an overview seminar on the history and applications of metadata, Peter presented the basics of metadata, its usefulness, and, of course, tips-tricks and tools for writing good metadata. He was available for an additional full day to meet with individual people and answer more specific questions about their own work. Over 40 individuals attended a session for a general overview of metadata, and most attended the additional sessions for more specialized metadata training. Attendees found the workshop to be very useful. There may be a follow-up workshop in the future.
