Under Secretary Mancuso Addresses the Electronic Industries Alliance’s 25th Annual Legislative & Regulatory Roundtable

On August 13, Under Secretary Mario Mancuso addressed the 25th Annual Legislative & Regulatory Roundtable held by the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA).  As part of his commitment to an open and constructive dialogue with industry, Under Secretary Mancuso discussed the role of dual-use export controls in enhancing U.S. economic competitiveness and national security, and shared his perspectives on the potential for modernization of the export control regime.

Under Secretary Mancuso also recognized EIA’s involvement in the launch of the Coalition for Security and Competitiveness (Coalition) earlier this year.  “EIA’s role in the Coalition and the formulation of its recommendations is an example of the mutually beneficial exchange of ideas between government and industry that should be encouraged,” said Mancuso. The Coalition developed recommendations for modernizing the U.S. export control system to safeguard sensitive technologies while helping the industry developing those technologies to remain globally competitive.
