Under Secretary Mancuso Discusses Free Trade Agreements with New York Business Group

On September 20, Under Secretary Mario Mancuso visited the Hauppauge Industrial Association (HIA) in New York to discuss the importance of accelerating U.S. engagement with the most important technology markets around the world and the benefits of secure high tech trade for the U.S. economy.

Mancuso also highlighted the role of the pending free trade agreements in creating additional opportunities for the United States to increase exports and create U.S. jobs.  “Passage of the pending free trade agreements with Korea, Peru, Columbia, and Panama will boost U.S. competitiveness by eliminating or lowering tariffs on U.S. exports and opening market opportunities to New York industry,” Mancuso said.

The HIA is a business organization with more than 1,000 members that works to improve the economic health and well-being of the Long Island business community.
