Research Project:
GENE NETWORKS CONTROLLING DEVELOPMENT, PATHOGENICITY AND SECONDARY METABOLISM IN ASPERGILLUS
Location: Food and Feed Safety Research
Project Number: 6435-42000-019-14
Project Type:
Reimbursable
Start Date: Jan 15, 2006
End Date: Dec 14, 2008
Objective:
The objective of this research project is to identify genes important for aflatoxin contamination through conducting microarray experiments in Aspergillus flavus.
Approach:
An Affymetrix whole genome Aspergillus flavus microarray will be developed. Genes will be profiled and identified that are involved in fungal development, pathogenecity, and that are important for aflatoxin contamination of crops.
