Aiea US Navy well (03-2256-10), Aiea, Oahu

The Aiea US Navy well (03-2256-10) is a flowing artesian well located on the eastern side of Pearl Harbor. Water levels reflect the altitude of the piezometric surface in the Koolau Basalt aquifer beneath the sedimentary caprock. The well was drilled for the US Navy in 1922 and continuous monitoring began in 1966. The well was drilled to a depth of 173 ft from an altitude of about 10 ft. The well is open to the aquifer between altitudes of -133 and -163 ft. This station is operated by Ben Shimizu of the Honolulu field office.

Historical Water Level Legend

The daily maximum and minimum data show how recent conditions compare to the range of daily water levels measured in the historical record. The entire period of record is used to estimate daily maximum, minimum, and median water levels. The spikes appear because data prior to 1992 were reported at 5-day intervals.
