Four Schools Primarily Serving Native American Children Go From "Lowest of Low" To Meeting State Standards
The state of New Mexico recently released its list of schools identified as needing improvement, and The Associated Press reports state superintendent Michael Davis is "heartened by the tremendous effort from some schools on last year's corrective action list."
The Associated Press quotes Superintendent Davis: "There are four [schools] in Gallup that were the lowest of the low—primarily serving Native American children—that were having the most difficult time achieving in our state. Today, they're meeting standards. It can be done."
