>I'm starting to work on another issue of "Focus on Basics" (8B) and I need editorial board members. The articles grow out of work conducted at the NCSALL lab site at Rutgers and topics will include engagement and reading, among other things.

>The work of an editorial board member involves reading manuscripts critically and participating in conference calls to give feedback on the articles while they're in draft form. We'll start the conference calls the first week of November and they'll continue for a few months.
>We arrange them around board members' schedules, and assume that not everyone can make every call.
>A small stipend is offered.
>Past participants (speak up if you're reading this) find the activity intellectually stimulating.
>Qualifications? At least a few years experience in ABE/ESOL (some classroom experience is important); familiarity with research methods (you don't have to have conducted research); good writing and editing skills; familiarity with FOB; enthusiasm, availability to participate in conference calls about 2 hours/week from Nov through Jan.
