HEPCRA Compliance Information

The Hawai‘i Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (HEPCRA) requires that facilities must report annually on hazardous substances stored on their premises if the amounts stored exceed specified threshold planning quantities.

This website http://yosemite.epa.gov/oswer/ceppoweb.nsf/content/ds-epds.htm#lol contains the Title III Consolidated Lists of Lists - October 2006 Version which identifies Section 302 Extremely Hazardous Substances (EHS) and the Threshold Planning Quantities (TPQ), that are subject to the HEPCRA law. Note that fuels (gasoline, diesel, aviation, etc.,) and any other chemicals not found on the list are still considered hazardous substances and are reportable at 10,000lbs. Please call the HEER office at 808-586-4249 if you have any questions regarding regarding TPQ.
