Yes, indeed.  The best deal around is to include service learning students in 
literacy programs.  I serve on our University's service learning committee at 
the College of Education, and this growing movement bears watching.  Get 
involved on the ground floor and you have the chance to influence what kinds 
of service qualifies for service learning credit.   Debbie Yoho
