ANNOUNCING

THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL KNAPWEED SYMPOSIUM

OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY

The Symposium was held at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho March 15th and 16th, 2001, in conjunction with the annual WSWS meeting.

The purpose of the Symposium was to present new information on the biology, ecology, and management of Centaurea (sensu latu) species in the West (including spotted, diffuse, squarrose and Russian knapweed and yellow starthistle).

The Symposium was sponsored by the Western Society of Weed Science, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, USDA Agriculture Research Service, University of Idaho, Western Weed Coordinating Committee, the Idaho Department of Agriculture, DowAgrosciences, and the Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program.
