World Conference on Transportation Research Society is a forum for the interchange of ideas among transportation researchers, managers, policy makers, and educators from all over the world, from a perspective which is multi-modal, multi-disciplinary, and multi-sectoral.  The next World Conference on Transport Research will be held in Lisbon, Portugal hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 2010. 

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Annual Meeting, 12-16 February, 2009, in Chicago, Illinois.  Each year at the AAAS Annual Meeting, science and technology professionals-from across disciplines and around the world-gather to discuss new research, emerging trends, and exciting new possibilities.

Past

In April 2008, Popular Mechanics and the National Science Foundation presented "Bridges to the Future: A vision for infrastructure in the 21st century," a webcast discussion exploring the best ideas for improving American infrastructure and building a better, safer future. The 11th World Conference on Transport Research was held in Berkeley, California, on the campus of the University of California. This was the first WCTR held in the United States. [Read More]

Advanced Research Think Tank Forums (2005)
Between July and October 2005, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) held a series of think tank forums bringing together a cross-section of stakeholders and partners to make recommendations for a corporate, strategic FHWA advanced research agenda. Three think tanks were organized to explore future advanced research possibilities within a set of domains relevant to the mission of FHWA.
