Lead
A heavy metal capable of causing brain damage; formerly present in paint and gasoline and still a hazard from various occupational sources.

Leishmaniasis
The name of several types of disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Leishmania. Various forms of the disease are known, including visceral leishmaniasis (pertaining to organs in the abdomen), cutaneous leishmaniasis (skin), and mucocutaneous leishmaniasis (skin and mucous membranes). The protozoa are transmitted to humans through the bite of various species of sandflies.

Lymphocyte
A type of white blood cell important in immunity and defense against infection.

Lymphoma
A cancer of the lymph nodes (or tissues.)
