Legislative staff are entitled to:
- A personal connection to NCSL and the nation's best policy experts. Your state has an NCSL staff liaison who will help you find the information you need, help you understand all the NCSL resources at your fingertips, and visit your state to meet with you.
- The 12 NCSL Standing Committees allow legislative staff to benefit from the experiences of other states in shaping public policies, experimenting with new laws and managing the legislative institution. Standing Committees members are composed of legislators and legislative staff who are appointed by the leadership of the legislatures. These issue-driven committees meet several times a year to discuss state and federal issues, share ideas and guide NCSL’s lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C.
- NCSL provides training, professional growth opportunities and information for legislative staff. NCSL has 10 staff sections and a staff network that sponsor meetings, training and publications. The coordinating body for NCSL services for legislative staff is the Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee.
