[ASAM Practice Guidelines are intended to assist physicians in making clinical decisions.   The ultimate judgement regarding any specific treatment must be made by the physician with consideration of the pertinent scientific and patient information, and in light of the diagnostic and treatment options available.

Their inclusion on this page does not indicate official endorsement by ASAM, or acknowledgement that the methods used in their development are equivalent to those used in developing ASAM clinical practice guidelines.

Journal of Addiction Medicine

 

The mission of the Journal of Addiction Medicine (JAM), the official journal of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), is to promote excellence in the practice of addiction medicine and clinical research. JAM functions independently from ASAM in terms of its editorial content. [Journal of Addiction Medicine]

 

The ASAM Board of Directors approved a plan to seek specialty recognition of Addiction Medicine.
