ASAM Public Policy Statement Categories
These statements are established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. ASAM's policy statements on Addiction Medicine are one of the cornerstones of ASAM in the sense that they define what the Association stands for as an organization. They provide the information and guidance that physicians and others seek from ASAM about health care issues. ASAM's policies are based on professional principles, scientific standards, and the experience of practicing physicians. We hope these Statements, which are regularly reviewed and updated, are helpful to you as you advance your career and address increasingly complex and challenging issues.
