Transportation and Technology Academy of Cardozo High School (TransTech) | Began in 1991; Ongoing | Work-readiness program. Operates from Cardozo Senior High School in Washington, D.C. Bridges gap between classroom and workplace through mentoring, summer internships, regular student work assignments, and career development activities. First transportation studies academy in the Washington area. FHWA became involved in 1994, when the FHWA Administrator signed the partnership agreement. Summer Transportation Institute (formerly National Summer Transportation Institute for Secondary School Students) | Ongoing | Summer training program.
