Vaccines
Biologically active materials derived from microorganisms (bacteria, viruses) which can stimulate an immune response in the body in order to prevent future infection with similar microorganisms. Vaccines may consist of living or killed organisms or chemical substances derived from organisms. Most vaccines are given by injection, although some are taken orally.
Validity
The extent to which a measure accurately reflects the concept that it is intended to measure.
Vesicants
An agent (as a drug or a war gas) that induces blistering.
Voluntary
Free of coercion, duress or undue inducement; used in research context to refer to a subject's decision to participate (or to continue to participate) in a research activity.
