The Suwannee River Basin Interactive Mapping System (IMS) is a Web-based Geographic Information System (GIS).  It provides geographic data access for the U.S. Geological Survey Suwannee River Basin and Estuary Initiative.

The Suwannee IMS is designed for exploration of the watershed with online mapping tools.  A set of basic geographic data layers is available for viewing, overlay and analysis. Data can be displayed for the entire watershed or for individual sub-basins. Users can print customized displays. Each layer is also available as a GIS download.  Please be patient.  The data in an IMS takes time to transfer and display.

Layers: Hydrology, cultural, jurisdictional boundaries, geology, watershed basins, land cover, USGS topographic coverage, Landsat TM imagery, and shaded relief.

The Suwannee Interactive Mapping System is maintained by Sumani Chimmula,
U.S. Geological Survey/National Wetlands Research Center, Lafayette, LA.
