Dear Dr. Schwartzberg,
I am a member of the NIFl-Health discussion group and saw your notice
regarding the textbook to be published next year.
I am director of the Department of Health Education and Promotion of Clalit
Health Services, Israel's largest health service organization. We are
working to integrate the concept of health literacy into our health
promotion efforts, and starting 2004, particualry among the elderly. I will
be in Chicago from October 22 - 29 for a family event, and was wondering
whether it would be possible to meet for a brief chat in order to learn more
about what the AMA is doing regarding health education and promotion and
health literacy, vis-a-vis the elderly, chronic patients and any other
groups that the AMA is investing in. If this is at all possible ( in know
that it is short notice), the best dates for me would be anytime on Monday
the 27th or Tuesday the 28th. Would be grateful if you could inform me as to
whether this is at all feasible, and if so, when would be the best time.
Thanks so much and hope that your weekend is a good one,
Diane Levin, MPH, CHES
