Center For AIDS Research at NYU School of Medicine

Mission statement:

The mission of the CFAR is three-fold: to support basic and translational research by providing core services, seed money, and opportunities for learning and collaboration; to promote the highest quality of care for those HIV-infected by fostering the involvement of providers and the community in clinical research; and to share our discoveries with the public, both here and abroad, to improve quality of care for all those affected by HIV. The NYU Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) is one of fifteen nationally designated centers funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The CFAR is charged with expediting discoveries in HIV/AIDS research, providing excellent care and information to the public, and fostering HIV treatment and research programs overseas. The Center is comprised of over sixty investigators and physicians dedicated to working together to find better ways to treat and prevent HIV, including the critical development of an HIV vaccine.
