Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria
The Global Fund was created in 2002 to dramatically increase
resources to fight three of the world's most devastating diseases, and
to direct those resources to areas of greatest need. The United States,
in part through USAID, has contributed one-third of the Global Fund's
resources.
The U.S. Government sees the Global Fund as an essential partner in
its work and as a means to encourage greater investment of donor countries, the private sector and individuals in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
