Assistant Inspector General for Investigations

Adrienne R. Rish


Adrienne R. Rish was selected as Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIG/I) at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in September 2000.

As the AIG/I, Office of Inspector General (OIG), Ms. Rish reports to the Inspector General and is responsible for a global investigative program, which addresses allegations of fraud, abuse, and misconduct within the programs and operations of USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the African Development Foundation and the Inter-American Foundation.

Ms. Rish is a career member of the Senior Executive Service and an alumnus of the Federal Executive Institute.

Before becoming the AIG/I, Ms. Rish served as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations with USAID from January 1997 until her present appointment.

Before joining USAID, Ms. Rish served as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Inspector General (USEPA/OIG) from January 1984 until January 1997.

While at the EPA/OIG, her assignments included that of Acting Divisional Inspector General for Investigations, Deputy Divisional Inspector General for Investigations, and Desk Officer on the staff of the AIG/I. Before joining EPA/OIG,Ms. Rish served as a law enforcement commissioned Park Ranger with the U.S. National Park Service, Department of Interior, from September 1982 until January 1984.

Ms. Rish began her career with the Federal government as a Cooperative Education Trainee with the U.S. National Park Service, Department of Interior in May 1980.

Ms. Rish is the recipient of numerous performance awards including the EPA Gold Medal, the agency’s highest honor.

Ms. Rish has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina.
