USAID Announces Award of $4 Billion Information Technology Contract

WASHINGTON D.C. - The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced the award of the Principle Resources for Information Management Enterprise-wide (PRIME) 3.2 Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to a consortium of five information technology companies, with multiple sub contractors, in an agreement that could be worth as much as $4 billion over five years. This selection was accomplished in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations. The initial contract period is for one year, with additional awards up to four more years depending on performance. The consortium prime contractors include ATT Corp.; Computer Sciences Corporation; Northrop Grumman, Information Technology; ManTech International Corp; and SRA International, Inc.
"Fantastic teaming between State and USAID combined with strong industry participation makes PRIME 3.2 a real win for the taxpayer. This combined program will provide integrated communications and IT capability, worldwide. We are looking for great competition to continue over the life of this agreement," said John Streufert, Acting CIO for USAID.
The (PRIME) 3.2 agreement will provide the following support services for USAID, Department of State and its other development partners:
IT Operations and Maintenance Support Services: Asset Configuration Management, Emergency Provision of Services, Enterprise Network Architect/Design, Hardware Support, Infrastructure Support, Internet and Intranet Data Services, IT Facilities Management, IT Infrastructure Solution Engineering, IT Logistics Support, IT Maintenance, IT Operations and Maintenance Planning, Local Area Network/Wide Area Network, Network Management, Organizational Change Management, Software Support
Communications Operations and Support Services: Cable, Electronic Data Interchange, Printing and Distribution, Telecommunications, Video and Multimedia
Customer Support Services: Computer Room and Operations Center Support, Desktop Support, Documentation Library, Help Desk Support, IT Accessibility Support, IT Training, Logistics and Asset Management, Notebook Support, Tape Management, Technology Assessment
Systems Integration Support Services: Capacity Planning, Data Management, Database Management, Disaster Recovery, Integration and Testing, Internet and Intranet Support, Performance Modeling, Security Operations, Software Distribution and Deployment, System Acceptance
