Polio Eradication Initiative: Strategy
Developed with polio eradication partner organizations such as WHO, UNICEF, Rotary International, and the Child Survival Collaborations and Resources (CORE) Group of NGOs, USAID’s strategy focuses on:
- Building collaborative and cooperative partnerships
- Strengthening and improving health systems
- Supporting polio immunization campaigns and supplemental immunizations
- Developing integrated surveillance approaches and establishing networks of surveillance officers who investigate all reported cases of acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) in children
- Improving and expanding data collection and dissemination
