U.S. Government Provides $3.3 Million to NGO for Humanitarian Assistance to Lebanon

WASHINGTON, DC - The United States Government, through the Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided more than $3.3 million to the non-governmental organization (NGO) Mercy Corps for emergency relief activities in Lebanon.
Specifically, Mercy Corps will use the funding to implement a three-month program that will include emergency food assistance to internally displaced persons, psychosocial activities for vulnerable children, and relief supplies including mattresses, blankets, kitchen sets, candles, cleaning materials, and first aid materials.
To date, the U.S. Government has pledged $30 million, of which more than $20 million has been committed, in humanitarian assistance to Lebanon.
