Management and Leadership Development

Global Efforts

USAID has spearheaded efforts to identify and publicize effective management practices, new technologies, and other program skills for developing country professionals. Management problem-solving tools and other materials are now available on the Internet and computerized models have been developed to project training needs, manage logistics and supplies, and train communications specialists and service providers. USAID designs innovative programs to build the capacity of local institutions to manage high quality family planning programs. Areas of assistance include leadership development, organizational structure development, human resource management, strategic planning, financial management, management information systems, electronic resource development, and health sector reform.
