Office of Conflict Management & Mitigation
USAID's Office of Conflict Management & Mitigation (CMM) in the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) leads USAID's efforts to effectively prevent, mitigate and manage the causes and consequences of conflict and fragility. DCHA/CMM is divided into two teams: the Technical Team and the Program Team. This solicitation is recruiting an intern for the summer of 2008 to support the program team. The intern can expect to have a substantive and rewarding experience as part of the DCHA/CMM team - once on board, interns are treated as full staff members and are expected to perform as such.
The Program Team is responsible for programmatic oversight of the office, which includes budgeting priorities, strategic planning, and monitoring and evaluation responsibilities. Program Team intern possible duties include: coordinating the proposal review process for the Annual Program Statement (APS); assisting with fulfilling Agency reporting requirements; tracking DCHA/CMM products and deliverables; auditing CMM office files; overseeing office correspondence; supporting office administrative, communications, and outreach needs; and other duties as required. All members of the Program Team are also assigned specific Technical Team responsibilities - efforts will be made to ensure that the intern will be able to spend a small portion of their time also working in a technical area of interest.
While part-time applicants will be considered, applicants wishing for a full-time position will be given preference.
